Faithful To God

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but has given us the strength to obey.
With power and sound mind, with love, the unfailing kind, O be not ashamed of His way.

May the Lord find us faithful, may His Word be our banner held high.
May the Lord find us faithful, every day, though we live, though we die.

The song above “May the Lord find us faithful” reminds us to be faithful to God in our daily walk.  Our Lord has given every believer gifts for the benefit of the Church.  We have time, talent and treasure which God has entrusted to us for His work.  How we manage them will determine weather or not we are faithful to God as stewards.  A faithful steward uses these resources for God’s kingdom business for the glory of His Name and receives praises from Him.  An unfaithful steward abuses these resources in indulgence of self gratification and will face the judgement of God.

Our mindset with regards to what God has entrusted to us is important.  We should be mindful that we own nothing on this earth and that we are just stewards of what God has entrusted to us.  1 Tim. 6:7 reminds us, “For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.”   We are required to be stewards who are faithful in our daily affairs and ready for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ anytime.  He will come at any unexpected moment.  We need to walk close to God daily and be sensitive to His leading each step of the way.  The abundant life our Lord spoke about in John 10:10 begins now on earth when we accept Him as our personal Lord and Saviour.  The abundant life the Christian has is lived out daily when one faithfully obeys Christ and steadfastly serves Him with the gifts God has entrusted him.

The temptation for many is to be drawn into selfish worldly pursuits.  Heb. 11:24, 25 commend Moses as faithful to God when he chose to be identified with the people of God rather then to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.  We need to have the kingdom mindset and be involved in God’s work always as long as we are alive here on earth.  We live in uncertain times and do not know what will happen tomorrow but we know who controls tomorrow.  For many of us tomorrow may just be another regular day, but some may lose their jobs, loved ones or even their own lives.  No matter what happens, we need to always remain faithful to God.

Will Jesus Christ find you faithful to God in using your gifts for His kingdom and glory when He comes again?  Remember: Be Faithful To God.
