COVID-19 UPDATE ON 16 MAY 2021

Word from Chairman

Dear BKCers,

Thank our Lord God for keeping BKC safe thus far. Singapore is now under Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) since 14 May. Let me update on where we are at.

Fully Online

In light of the latest May 14 Government advisory, Council has decided to err on the side of caution and move all our church services and ministry meetings to a fully digital basis, until June 13 (TBC).

In the past week, before 14 May, the task force/Elders have been closely monitoring the situation and discussing this issue:

  • Originally we had decided to go ahead with physical service on 16 May, Sun with some additional precautions for the English Congregation.
  • Mandarin Congregation had moved fully to Zoom from last Sunday.
  • Peranakan congregation had asked some of their older members not to attend.
  • Ministry meetings were moving back to a digital basis.

After the May 14 advisory with tightened precautions, the Task Force/Council were fully aligned in our decision to move all services and ministry meetings to a digital basis till further notice. This is out of concern for the safety of all the members and an abundance of caution. This is also In line with our general positioning of being conservative on the side of safety during the pandemic.

The task force/Council will continue to closely monitor the situation. Please continue to be vigilant and observe all safety precautions, as well as the latest measures.

Please continue to pray for the Lord’s protection and also for wisdom and discernment of all leaders during this time of challenge.

Blessings,

Teng Cheong
