Luke 9:23 in words fill half the banner. A big vertical ‘I’ and a big circle fill the other half. Above the vertical ‘I’ there is a small red circle. Below the big circle there is a horizontal ‘I’.
The vertical ‘I’ is filled with many things of the world – depicting prestige, possessions, power, etc. It is self-centred, self-filled and puffed up, not allowing the red circle (Christ and godly influence) to come into the life. The pictures filling the circle have to do with the more intangible things of personal growth, partnerships, relationships, godly purposes, and privileges. Within the large circle, there are red lines that outline the cross. The big circle over the horizontal ‘I’ symbolizes that Christ has the eminent position, and self is subservient and submitting to God.
We are to be like that large circle and horizontal ‘I’ in our commitment to follow Christ. |
